The amazing Arenal Volcano is a natural wonder located in La Fortuna of San Carlos in the Alajuela province, offering thousands of tourists the opportunity to appreciate its White smoke columns, ashes, and fumarolic activity. It is important to mention that the Volcano was asleep for about 450 years until it had a great explosion on the 29 of June of 1968, initiating a period of pyroclastic activity that has considerably decreased in the past few years. On route to the Arenal volcano, we will be visiting the famous town of Sarchí, best known as the artisan cradle of Costa Rica, where you will be having the best opportunity to buy souvenirs. Also, you will find in Sarchí the world’s biggest ox cart, built on cedarwood and decorated with amazing colors.

As the travel continues, we will come across forest areas, cattle farms and coffee, pineapple and ornamental plant plantations while experimenting with the variety of microclimates the country has to offer until we arrive at the gorgeous town of La Fortuna for lunch in a cozy restaurant with a view to the volcano. After lunch, there is going to be a hike to a lookout so you can appreciate it from a closer approach to the Volcano and the Arenal Volcano Lake.

Eventually, the tourist will get relaxed in one of the country best thermal waters, enjoying of the rejuvenating effects where the temperature oscillates between 33 and 66 grade Celsius (93-152 Fahrenheit) giving the client a variety of options that adapt to their needs, as well as a massage (optional) or another special treatment that must be reserved with anticipation to assure availability. The Tabacón thermal waters combine the four elements of nature: the heat of the volcano, the waters flowing from the hot water springs, the pure air of the jungle and the fertile land from La Fortuna of San Carlos. Also, it has a wonderful and scenic of navigable channels red, considered one of the richest zones in terms of flora and fauna of the country.
