Terraba-Sierpe National Wetlands is an internationally recognized RAMSAR wetland site by the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitat and includes the estuary of the Rivers Térraba and Sierpe. It is one of the largest mangrove wetlands in all of Central America and serves as an important habitat of many species of birds, fish, mammals, and reptiles. The tour departs from Térraba and enters the intricate mangrove wetlands allowing visitors an intimate magical experience with some of Mother Nature’s most interesting flora and fauna as you go.
