Delight in the Northern Region of Costa Rica as you discover many of the natural wonders of the country. With this tour, you will enjoy and relax in the thermal waters of Tabacón Grand Spa and Resort at first and then you will go to Caño Negro National Wildlife Reserve Channels for a floating safari through the rain forest, pastures, and marshland where you will find the trees that bend over its waters, visitors will be able to spot birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Itinerary
9:00 a.m.
Approximate pick-up time to start your journey to Arenal, on your way you will have the opportunity to admire some of the most important coffee plantations in Costa Rica. Your guide will explain the evolution of this product and its important role in the history of this country. The tours go through the towns of Sarchí, Naranjo, and San Ramón.
1:30 p.m.
Arrival in the town of La Fortuna, where a delicious lunch is included in one of the local restaurants.
2:30 p.m.
Approximate arrival time at the Tabacón Grand Spa and Thermal Resort. Plenty of time to relax and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of these hot springs. Sit back and relax in one of the many pools that are fed by the Tabacón River.
6:30 p.m.
A delicious buffet dinner will be served at the resort’s restaurant. After dinner, you will be driven back to your hotel in Arenal where you will overnight.
8:00 a.m.
Departure to Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, driving along with the San Carlos province and crossing the northern-central part of Costa Rica near the border to Nicaragua.
12:00 p.m.
Arrival at the Natural Lodge Caño Negro, located in front of the channels that connect to the Refuge. After check-in, a delicious lunch waits for you at the Lodge’s Restaurant.
1:00 p.m.
Tours by boat in Caño Negro National Wildlife Reserve Channels (duration 2 hours) floating safari through tropical rainforest, pastures, and marshland. Along the shores of the river and in the trees that bend over its waters, visitors will be able to spot birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. There are howler, spider and white-faced monkeys, three-toed sloth, caimans, turtles, and even Jesus Christ Lizards. Keep your eyes on the river, too – there’s the chance of spotting the fin of a freshwater shark as it slices above the water’s surface. The other part of the afternoon is free to enjoy some other optional activity.
6:00 p.m.
A delicious dinner at the restaurant will be served.
